Anyone autocross?

Just wondering what yall did to your e36 for this. Seems like something fun to get into.... Pics would be cool.

I've done it, but not in my 325 yet, it is almost ready to drive again with a lot of changes from what it had. It is a lot of fun!

Haven't race any of my bmw's(the e30 not so legally....) but best things to do is springs and shocks, Rims(second set for track which means light weight is 1 looks is 2) and tires(love my Pirelli P-Zero's) pictures of your car and what is done to it would help alot. 318 correct? maybe a exhaust system(for lightweight is what you tell your self)

Well, I currently dont own a Bmw. The 318 is long gone and so is my 535i. Im looking at a 89 535iM and a 93 325isM to buy to have some fun with. I guess clearly the E36 would be the better choice, but there pretty common in autocross and E34s arent...From the little ive seen.

Look for a e28 525is or ///M535i
the e28's are smaller and lighter and still have the Powerful and very reliable M30 straight 6! you can do H&R springs, bilsteins, M5 swaybars, Ireland Engineering weld on adjustable rear subframe kit(welds onto the subframe to make Camber and Toe adjustable) and front caster plates, A set of 17" rims maybe a staggered setup.

I auto-x'd my E36 318i a couple times. It was quick enough for it's class if you could keep your speed up and stay smooth through the corners. I've seen several E36 M3s auto-x'd by others. For SCCA, they are in Class B and usually turned out the fastest real times outside of the mod classes (at least in AR where we didn't have anything exotic showing up).
