another sunroof question...tap motor it works again...

well two things here, first off my first ever post..and my first ever BMW (325is)..

now my question...i been fixing little things here and there but now i have a question about the sunroof..and YES i searched this and many other sites..

ok question-- my sunroof seems to work intermingling, BUT, if i bang on the sunroof motor or tap the motor it will then open and shut again (and tilt) but after a few minutes returns to not working..hit it again...works again...

can i take apart the motor and clean and lube it? or is it a replace only fix...???

thanks in advance for any and all help...

What year is your 325? It could be that a wire to the motor has come loose or has frayed and is shorting out. I would start by checking that first. The hitting it could be causing the connector to connect enough to get power for a short period of time.

The cruise control has a seperate module located in the engine bay that connects to the throttle body. Its located next to the airbox on the drivers side wheel arch. I have one for sale depending on where you are located.

For the windows, check your fuses. The window motor or regulator may have failed.

I think I found it. Kinda looks like a mini data port. It sits I n fender well and if you unscrew it it has pens.

I found something. It looks like vacuum lines with a sensor attacked to it. It's F shaped. Two lines going into a sensor of some type. What is that? Previous owner just has it hanging down. The two hoses plugged into it but the sensor is just going nowhere.

Pm me price for cc...I live in 21901 zip

OK so fixed sunroof. Junkyard has a bunch of bimmers. Changed motor from a 97 e36 into mine...sunroof works flawless.
