I am having a problem deciding what I want to do with my headlights. I have to decide if I want to go through with the UmNitza ZKW Ellipsoid w. DDE Lightning Enchanced angel eyes, the only thing that is stopping me is the 670 dollar total price tag!!! I just dont know if any set of headlights is worth that much money. I'm sort of tight on money right now so I need to be sure that I should get these before I go through with it.
Any comments or suggestions on wether or not I should get it? Are HID better?
HID is awesome...ask El Presidente...he has ellipsoids with HID. The white light makes night vision so much better compared to stock lighting. You can look for the ellipsoid lights without the DDEs and save a huge chunk of money. Then you can put in Sylvania Silverstar bulbs as they are the best non HID bulb out there according to MANY people in this forum.
However, you do get what you pay for. They are very good quality brand of headlights.

personaly i think 670bucks is much better spent on a performance engine chip, and Dinan throttle body. Getting u about 25 extra bhp. That's where i'll be spending money before lights. Make sure you can blow them away before you worry about looking good doin it.
Remember, Silverstars only have the same color temp, but not the same lumens.
HIDs own. I'd go for them over Angel Eyes. IMO, AEs are becoming too common on the e36. Very few have HIDs (mine is the only one I've seen with them, but I've seen at least 10 with AEs.
As for speed vs looking good, the HIDs still come out better. What good does all that power do you when you can't see safely to go those speeds at night? Ellipsoids project the light 30% farther than NA spec reflectors and were designed with high-speed autobahn travel in mind. Comebined with HIDs, the lighting power improves dramatically. More importantly, they improve your safety.

Even though I'm now a hypocrite because I painted my tips chrome now....
nice phrase i agree mainly i mean i like having nice rims shiny car spoiler but you have to have the balls to if thats what you want! however with this car theres no sting (my car that is)
IF your tight on money right now, I don't think I would be spending $700 on headlights. They're cool but not that important in the grand scheme of things.
Wait 'till you have some extra chedda, then go with the upgraded ellipsoids. I wanted both angel eyes and HID, so I first upgraded to the best ellipsoid package available, and am waiting to find a really good set up to come along so I can upgrade to HID as well.
HID kits aren't worth it without upgrading your current NA spec headlights to ellipsoids. So you need to upgrade to an ellipsoid headlight anyways. That's why I did what I did, and plan on doing what's above.
Prez, you stole my thunder. I was so gonna comment on being able to easily overdrive your NA spec headlights.

Haha, and even in the day your lights are bright. If I could find those exact lights you have, I'd buy them in a second.
does anyone know where i can get red angel eyes. Ive seen it on an e36 once and it looks evil. too many people have white or blue dde's around here now, red one's would be so awesome
