i have a question regarding my headlight switch. since my car doesnt have daytime running lights, is there a way to wire the angel eyes so that they will? there must be a way, because people do it all the time, is there anything i have to do to get daytimes?
Yeah there is,, my mechanic told me that people wire them into thier dash lights they run on the same voltage etc... this will save u thr trouble of setting up new wiring and regulating the voltage......
Most (if not all Angels) are low draw so you can tip into pretty much any 12v+ feed that goes hot when you turn on the key.
I guess it would be pretty cool, but If I were you I ask the question "How long do these lights last before they crap out" before you run them everytime you turn on your car.
To do list:
Suspension--- researching
UUC System U TDM- 3/05
M50 manifold converstion 3/05
off to the tuning shop for custom software 4/05
Cams/lightened flywheel, throttlebody........ well lets see what happens
I don't have angel eyes so I don't know, but don't they run when you turned on the parking lights? Isn't that why so many people do the parking light delete to get rid of their front orange sides so it doesn't clash with their angel eyes when they are running parking lights.
thats what I did. I ran my angel eyes to my parking lights (sidemarkers). So when I turn my parking lights on, my ngel eyes turn on. That way, I could turn on my fogs if I want to.
lol, guys im not looking for the parking light delete, im looking to activate my light switch. for some reason on the early e36's the swtich doesnt do jack , except turn off the fogs when in the off postion.
yEEpEE! my specialty (wiring)! here is my suggestion, for TRUE daytime running lights this means that the lights are ALWAYS on while the key is turned, right? well on most all car stereos, starting from late 80s and up, there is a wire that leaves power to the unit for keeping radio stations and last played tracks stored until the unit is resumed. In most cases this 'Always Hot' wire is RED, but in bmws they use different colors, i'm not exactly sure which wire this is, but it should still be either yellow with a stripe or red or some color that stands out from the others along with the power and ground wire.
here is basically what you need to do to wire them this way:
1.) loosen stereo unit and pull it out of the dash far enough to see the wires.
2.) find the wire i mentioned above.
3.) splice into it and join in the hotwire to the angeleyes.
4.) use electrical tape and cover all uncovered wire.
5.) put stereo unit back into place and tighten screws.
6.) enjoy your new setup which will turn the on everytime you turn the key to the 1st or 2nd position and on.
...i did this with a tv screen i have hooked up to my modified ps2.
*NOTE you must connect the ground wire either to a ground wire with the stereo or a bolt under the hood that touches the frame, very easy.
hope this helps everyone, any questions about this method please im me!
