alternator question

i have a 1999 M3 with an 80 amp Bosch alternator. I got a replacement that is 140amps.... It's Valero i believe? Is this a different version that I can still use for my M3 or did i get the wrong one? any reply.

The higher Amperage should be ok you don't want to go down. The amperage is what type of load it can take before it is too much. the higher amperage is what will support more electronics without damaging you system. you should be good.

As long as the mounting points and pulley size are suitable you should be good to go.

How do you fin d the amp rating guys, is it listed on the unit?

Yes, there should be a model label on its casing.
