Alternator Problem

Okay I took my car to the foreign car place in my area telling them that i had "Flickering headlights and interior LEDs, a check engine light and a strange noise from my car (squeaky noise)"
They have said that the problem is the Alternator and the check engine light is indicating a low-voltage at times. Which makes sense because the light is only on at times. They quote a price of $375 for the alternator to be ordered and installed. Is this a fair price and what are your feelings on my problem. Thank you

Also- they say that the "squeaking noise" may be from the alternator as well.

$375 doesnt seem too bad find out what the alternator costs and see what they are actually making off you... have them change the serpentine belt too while they're in there. the belt itself is cheap and they have to take it off anyway. old belts can cause squeaking too.

If you wanna piss off the mechanics, SHOW UP with the part that needs replacing, so they can't pick the cheapest part and charge you for the most expensive.

Yes, tell them to replace te belts while it's off.
and if nobody's ever said it to you: WATER PUMP!!!!!
