Alarm will not arm

For some reason the last few days my alarm will not arm. I have changed the battery in the remote, but it still is having the same problem. When I hit the arm button it beeps two times like if there were a door open. Any ideas?

HEy stracer

I have the stock alarm system too so i thought maybe i can help, so does it lock the car when u hit lock/unlock button, u are saying that it doesnt arm when u hit the arm button, its maybe, that one of ur doors trunk or hood must be remaining slightly open check for it and then arm it..

hope it works

Have you checked your door striker? Does your driver side or passenger side window move upwards after you close the door? If the window does not rise after it is closed that means the striker is worn.

My striker was causing problems with my alarm. I would arm the alarm and the locks would not lock and my alrm would chirp twice and indicate a door open.

not window striker, Door striker. Open your door and look at the b-pillar where your door's locking mechanism 'strikes' the b-pillar and latches. See the link below.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=8046922577

Some times the round part wears out and the little switch in the striker doesn't get depressed properly.

You can also do a search on this site for 'door striker'

Here's the link to a thread I had started when my striker was causing problems. There is a link within that thread that shows you a picture of the striker.

hope this helps. AND remember this may not be your problem, it was mine and it did effect my alarm eventually.

I was testing all the switches and I think it might be the trunk pin. See the thing is where we part now at our new house has a incline in the driveway, which is pretty steep. So I wonder if that is it, but for the first week we were there it never did it. So I think I have it narrowed down to the trunk pin.
