Alarm acting strange

I just bought my 1999 328i 4dr and the alarm acts up sometimes.
Last night I was trying to get the alarm to set after removing the fuse for it and it seems I messed things up. I drove to the store afterwards and hit the lock button on the remote and to my surprise the parking lights flashed and the clown nose was flashing. When I came out I hit the unlock button and I went on my way thinking it was reset or something. I drove home and hit lock again and nothing but the doors locking this time.

Is that strange or just me doing something wrong?

After a lil more investigating I found the drivers door open/close sensor is not working and showing the door has been opened when I exit the car. Also the interior lights dont come on when I open the drivers door so I need to check it more and replace the lock/sensor if needed. The other door sensors work fine and kick the lights and alarm into action every time.
