My next problem is of recent nature. It's a much more annoying problem so I am trying to fix it much quicker than the previous issue that I mentioned, though not having a working blower motor control under 4 isn't the most convenient, so.... I swapped pretty much my entire interior lately, minus ONLY the rear deck panel, carpet, and the front dash panel. Everything else I changed to a MINT black leather interior that I got out of a parts car that some collector had, sold to some kid, and some kid crashed it. So I buy parts car and now have GREAT interior. Thanks kid. Anyway, I replaced the steering wheel specifically yesterday, and when I did so, I did not replace the air bag, only unclipped the wire leading to the airbag, removed it, replaced the steering wheel, and then put it back together. While I did all of this the battery was disconnected, minus when I reattached the airbag. Now my airbag light is on and doesn't show any signs of turning off. Any ideas? My book says it should turn off within 6-8 seconds or not at all. Thanks for the help.
So you plugged your battery and then plugged the airbag wire? Easiest way is to go at Autozone and have them check and remove the code. I've been driving with my airbag light on for a while.

I have a 94 remember, Autozone doesn't have the equipment to hook up to a 94. They only have the equipment to hook up to a 96 or newer. I have to read my own codes through a process I read out of a book, otherwise I'd have to have a BMW dealership do that for me too. I wish autozone or advanced were an option
Mine came on two days after I bought the car used. How much you wanna bet the dealer just did a 'light reset' without fixing the underlying condition which created the problem to begin with? The PRICK! Sure, I could call em up and tell em the story, but I know the answer already. " HUH, WHAT? nooooo, it was working FINE while we had it here!" Im thinking of buying one of those airbag light scanner/reset tools. They are cheaper than a visit to the stealer, and maybe I could fix it myself. If not, maybe I will go into the airbag reset light business. FIVE BUCKS, GET IN LINE. lol

If you removed the wire from the steering wheel without disconnecting the battery, the light will come on & stay on. It needs to be reset! You have 2 choices, bring it to the bmw dealer which gets about $125.00 an hour & hope they are honest with you and charge you an hours labor just to reset it, or do it yourself by purchasing the tool which you will have to keep for any future mishaps!!!!
