Exclamation

About three weeks ago, I had my cam sensor changed because my check engine light came on. Then three days ago, i just noticed that my airbag light is on! The shop who fixed my sensor said that they would check it but i have to pay $ 84.00. Last February, my check engine light came on and was brought to a BMW dealer and they fixed it and replaced my passenger seat belt latch. Any advice or help would be highly appreciated ! Thanks !

Does the airbag light come on right when you start the car, then goes off after a couple of minutes driving? Thats what mine does and there is an old thread where I asked about that and someone said that its common for e36's and thats some sensor is broken and the dealer can fix it. I'm almost positive that your airbags will still work, but then again there is only one way to find out and wrecking your car wouldn't be a good way to find out lol

I had that issue, and the dealership told me that it was probably the seat belt latch that was causing it. The reset the indicator light but made no guarantees that the problem wouldn't reoccur.

That was 3 months ago. To this date, (knock on wood) it's been good.

If you have the same problem, it is only the annoying indicator light which is the issue, nothing serious should be wrong.

Thats one of those things... that if you check it out... it will be something minor.. but if you dont check it out.. and find out why its making the light come on.. it will be something that could save your life... that has a fault.

I'd check it.
