my e36 keeps overheating ! it seems imposible to get the airlock out can any one help ?

I suggest a search on the forums and a Google for cooling system bleeding.

Is there any oil in the coolant or sign of water on the bottom of the oil stick?

1st check all hoses and radiator for any leaks you will spot these by seeing whiteish crystals (powdery) residue which is coolant.

It may also be your thermostat

As for the headgasket= normally mayo looking gunk in the coolant system and on the oil dipstick, lack of power, white smoke from exhaust, if you can do a compression test on each cylinder this will let you know 9/10

thanks i will try all that !! the thing i do know is i have put a new water pump in and thermo and houseing . how it started was i would be at the traffic lights (still) the heater would blow cold the when i drove and booted it abit the heater would blow out nice and warm !how ever when it blew cold the bottom hose on the left of the radiator would be cold when it blew hot the hose was hot then the next min cold again then the car just would over heat
