The Air Conditioner Blues

Guys/Gals:

I have a 318ic 1995 with great appeals all around, but I am now suffering from the Southern heat coming upon me. My a/c only blows some cool air, which will not get me thru the summer.
I had another car where I put R34 canisters in the low pressure side of my system and lived happily ever after.

Can it be done on the E36 family?

Should be able to pick up some refrigerant from Wal-Mart or Autozone or wherever. Then just follow the Bentley procedures.

ya, bently manual has the proper procedures to recharge the ac...

Well the bad news gets worse, I did use the Bentley manual to recharge using R143A and my car started smoking like a choo choo train. I have a leak somewhere around my evaporator thingy.
