Thank God it happened whiles I was driving into the driveway at my Moms house and not on the highway!
But the FCA finally gave way when I hit the curb alittle fast whiles backin into the driveway and I lost all steering!
I didn't really hear anything at first but the steering wheel got real tight then locked up and the front wheels starting squealing and squeaking as the car continued to roll backwards safely in the driveway.
Now I not only have to fix the damn things (which I've been stalling to do since Feb.) I also have to pay for Towing...
uhm, why dont you just leave it there, save the towing charge, and replace it yourself? you dont even need a puller/press to replace the thrust bushing, some silicone lube and brute force makes it squeek on and off. i've done more then one 3 series on jack stands with nothing more then basic tools.
my car has 160,000 miles on the odo. I'm sure the were never replaced before...so I would say every 160,000 miles on the e36 models where the arms where not non aluminum
Yea, they are.. the standard ones are cast potmetal, and the bushings are dead center.. yours are offset.. meaning you have m3 bushings in it at the moment. i thought those were the new ones! lol.
Where's a good place to get the M3 offsets and what's the price differential look like? Oh... for an E30 that is. And what exactly is the benefit of the offset bushing just out of curiousity? I would normally know the answer to something like that but I'm having trouble determining the reason behind it from the picture.

Those are the aluminum control arms. I dont believe the M3 ones are aluminum, but rather the aluminum ones are aeven an upgrade for us. The M3 ones are different from the regular e36's I believe because they have solid/stiffer ball joints. And he does have the offset bushings made for the 95 M3's.
Why is this not in the e36 section?
