Adjusting The Steering Wheel Height?

My 328i does not have a factory installed tilt steering wheel. Is there any way to adjust it without the factory installed parts? I would like it to be moved down about 1".

To my knowledge there is no E36 steering wheel height adjustment possible. None of the cars came with it or had it as an option. I have never had a problem with it and I am 6"1... see if you can raise your seat up a bit... perhaps that would help.

It is OEM in some e36s

It is a lever on the bottom of my 93's steering housing. You pull the lever down move the wheel, then push the lever back up to lock in place. It is my first e36 not sure if same on others.

Yea really, I'm pretty sure the tilt steering is fairly rare.

Fairly rare...try extremely rare.
