My A/C blows out air no problem, but the air coming out isnt as cold as it should be. Would this be cause by it being low on freon?? I know this is probably a stupid question so go easy on me

If I say something stupid, it's probably cause I'm ripped
get the mechanic or whoever changes it to put dye in with the recharge fluid. That way, if there's a large leak, you can spot the problem and save a lot of time & money fixing the problem if there is a problem. (like I learned the hard way, 3 recharges in the past 8 months and still broken)
it may be low or it may also be due to a faulty expansion valve. It could be because the expansion valve is faulty and causing a leak. Could also be the compressor leaking and near death. Those are the most common break downs in the system. I would double check for leaks first before replacing anything.

Well I have the same problem as you do, I got it checked out and it was'nt low on Freon. My condensor (or compressor) is gone, and it needs a replacement. Its quite expensive some were around $1000 to $1500 which I don't have. So I been driving with my windows down all this time.

I think the mechanic or dealership is pulling your leg.
Yah, labor is a pain, and you need to replace the receiver\dryer to prevent acid buildup in the system.
Call bavauto and ask for a price for those two. Around 500$ for both parts combined, the 1000$ figure was probably with labor included.
