My ABS light is starting to pop up after driving for a couple of minutes. The last time it did this was over a month ago just once, but now it's doing it a couple of minutes after every time I drive.
I read a couple of posts about the problem but most were odd problems. I thought it might be worn out brakes or sensors but the pro's say otherwise. Though there is a rattling-metal noise coming from the back that I'm starting hear often, could it have anything to do with it? Any help is much appreciated.
If your car is a 92 325is, it would be a E30 and you are in the wrong section. Now about the ABS, how and in what way are you attempting to retrieve codes from the ABS? Scanner?
No buddy! It's a 92 325is E36. The first E36 was made in late 92 and the E30continued until 94. As for retrieving codes, I do it the way I've always done it with the pedal and check engine method. It's funny because the ABS light is on and the fault code shows 1444 which means no errors.

wrong, the only e30 in 92 was a convertible...and that was a 325i

That's interesting because I've come across more than one 94 E30 (don't know if it was imported or not). You're right about the E36 though, I remember seeing a 91 E36 and thought the guy was wrong (gotta find'em and apologize).

I'm never wrong! I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
Oh well, it's not the first time, and I'm sure it won't be the last time.... Oops.
At any rate, in that year the engine and ABS are two separate computers and retrieving the codes with the gas petal will only provide engine codes. You need a scanner to get the ABS codes.
