About to buy 328i Coupe - Need advise please!

I am about to purchase a 328i Auto Coupe with a 1995 reg and 110k miles for £5000. The car looks to be in mint condition but as far as engines and such go I am a little lost. Are there any specific things that I should be looking for with this car. Any usual faults or warnings of things that are about to go wrong, if so what sort of costs would be involved to put them right. Also what are your thougts on the amount of mileage it has done, I am told that this is no problem for the BMW engine but hopefully someone can confirm when real problems start to set in. This will be my first BMW car so I could use a little help.

In the FAQs there's common e36 problems. 110K Isn't bad the engine is about halfway through its life. If it was properly maintained then you won't have a problem with replacing crap, but with any used car if the owner neglected it and waited till stuff broke to get it fixed you might have lots of stuff to fix, good luck.

BMW makes great engines that last for years...however, you never know what could have been going on with the previous owner. When you take it for a test drive, make sure you listen to the engine note and listen for any rumbles or gurggling noises that sound unnatural. Like Kevin said, check out the FAQ for more info on all that.

BTW - 328i = sedan; 328is = coupe
