Hey all. Saw the forum for the first time today (well.. technically the second time but i actually read it this time.) Can you say "addicted"? Cause I can say "spare change?"
I'm looking to buy. I saw a moded 95 325is with 100k miles for $7500 (ac schnitzer rims with R tires, alpine shocks, alpine stereo, bavarian exaust, spoiler) but.. hey it's 100k miles. and it was a rebuilt title (was salvage before this owner). Good deal but I want better. And i think i want a 328. I'm going to a car auction in Anaheim (sp?), PA friday, day before my 22nd birthday. i have about 10k to spend. Think i'll find a 328is in auto with about 60k miles for 10k? (never drove a stick. i drive auto's like sticks.)
(lay off, biotch.)
What does everyone think?
325 or 328?
i or is?
how many miles?
what's a good price?
can i have $5k anyone?
Please?
sex offered.
by the way i'm a guy.
ok. 5 bux? please?
I'll post the auction results when i come back for sure. Maybe even with pics.
my offer for sending me money stands. always. the sex might be a limited time offer.
ok if i where you i would take either a 325 or 328. on whether or not to get an i or is that depends if you want a 4 door or coupe(is being the 2 door coupe). its very rare to find these cars with low mileage for a good price so if theres nothing worth getting at the auction you should definately try out www.autotrader.com and www.ebaymotors.com. Those are probably your best bet at finding a really good deal
i've done ALL the used car sites and ebay. It's as simple as this: every time you look up history via VIN for a dealer's BMW , "REPORTED AT AUCTION" comes up right before it. EVERY dealer gets 90% of his cars in auction. it's simply the best prices you can find anywhere. think of it as buying from a wholesale store outlet. in any event i'm not sleeping tonight as the ride to Manhiem PA is at 3:30AM

i believe the IS is the sports package (mine has it) and it is a two door. it has different shocks and some good stats. 325 is a 2.5 liter engine, the 328 is a 2.8 liter engine (i don't know the gallon conversion for you americans ) the stock 328 should have 190ish HP stock versus the 325 which has 185ish. minor difference. the 328 later went on to become the 330.
i love my 328. it is essentially a step down from the m3 of that same year. 50 HP step down (as well as a not-as-cool suspension, tires, engine, interior, exterior ummmm what else??)...but a step down none the less.
I knew all that. just. everyone on here seems to have the IS. is it stiffer than an I? (better ride?) no B pillar but again.. no back doors. Everyone's telling me the prices at the auction will be insane. So i MIGHT even come back with an M3. probably just a 97 328 with ~65k on it. still. bangable.
So yeah i went to auction and the prices were nothing compared to me scrounging the net looking for private sellers. Simple as this, desperate private seller will ALWAYS be your lowest price.
SO what i did when i got home was find the following:
98 328IS with 92k miles, black w/ black leather, for $10k asking.
i'm calling when i wake up tomm morning. if it's gone, i will literally cry.
(it's also 250 miles away but no biggy right)
i was gonna get the 96 328IS with 104k miles, black w/ beige leather for $8000 but the 2000 is worth it for 2 years/12 thousand miles newer, with black leather *drool*
(if anyone wants the 96 i can actually give you the guys number, he's a cop, it has radar installed, cell phone not working but 911 works, i have pics of it actually.. i'm helping some other dude sell his car.... wow..)
Ski you have to keep SOMETHING on me. but not your eye.
328is. Good choice. I found a 1997 328is with only 45,000 miles and has every option plus the m3 front bumper, side moldings, and clear corners. I'm waiting for a reply from the owner. He only wants $10,800 for it. I think thats the best deal I've ever seen for any BMW.
