99 323is A/C Recharge or something more serious?

Hello everyone I have a problem I have searched and can not find the answer to...

My A/C blows medium cold air when turned on but then after a little while it blows hot air. So I thought that it just needed to be re-charged because it used to be much colder even from the start.

But I attached it to this port (circled in green)



and the meter read about 50 which is in the yellow.

My question is why would the A/C stop blowing cold air after a little while? Also why has the level of cold went down when the meter says the system is still a little over charged? Am I doing something wrong?

It may depend on your temp settings! Mine does the same even without A/C turned on...
There should be an inspection "Eye" on top of the condensor to show the state of the gases. I think that if it appears "White" then it's fine.
