98 328i Convert Top won't go down?

Had my car garaged for 7 months and had to replace the battery. After I replaced the battery I reinput my radio code but when I pushed the button to put down my top the light did not turn on nor did the motor make any sounds of trying to bring it down.

I've dropped my car off at a European repair shop and was wondering if anyone has had to repair there convert tops?

Appreciate any feedback you can give on this topic.

the motor could be siezed or the top could be stuck , 7 months is quite a while, however those tops are able to stay up for long periods of time, i have a feeling its either the motor or a problem with wiring, get back and tell us what the garage finds out.
