97 bmw 318i wont start unless out of time

im new here and to bmw's... so please help

this is what i have going on...the car will start and run rough if i put plug wires in wrong

front of car

will run

coil engine

wont start

any ideas

i don`t get the routing on you plugs usually its 1 on1 2on2 and so on , is the car the wire for the connectors are almost fool proof

its a 1.9.... says on line should be coil 4123 engine 1342.... can some one please tell me i know the firing order is 1342 but what to put on the coil ... it has the plug wires not just the coils on top of plug
