97 328is no start issues

Hello

I have a 97 328is which i have owned and enjoyed for 4 years. During this
time it has never failed to start by just touching the starter. I drove it
2 weeks ago, it sat for a week and when I went to start it all it would do is turn
over. The battery is 3 months old and strong. I am getting error code P1747
on it which is Can Bus Monitoring. I can find no real information about that.
The only unusual thing that went on was that after I had turned the
key completely off I could hear clicking coming from the throttle body for
about 2 minutes then it stopped. It did the same thing after I looked at it
again the next day.

Any thoughts or Ideas would be appreciated

Check the battery is fully charged and that all cable connections are clean and firm - at the battery as well as earth and starter connections. If all connections are good, you may need to re-synch the EWS-DME.

Check the DME relay. P1747 is one of those useless generic "CAN Bus error" codes. If the DME relay is bad, there will be no power for spark or to the fuel pump relay.
