Hello..... I just bought a e36 and it only came with the valet key. The p/o told me its all he had and that he had to replace the ignition in the car. This key however with a little jiggling will lock the driver door and unlock and lock the passenger door. There is no line down the middle, So it wont work in the trunk or glovebox.... My question is "If I get a key cut in town it will have the line but no chip..... So if I put the chip in the steering colum like glue it on the inside of the plastic housing.... Will the non chip key then work??? I've read on here but could not find a straight yes or no if it would....... The guy at the key shop says "no it has to be in front of the key circle for the signal to work it only flows one way etc......" So maybe someone who has done this can help me
I want to buy the UAS keyless entry that is plug and play. It comes with keys that I can get cut but it wont have chips.... If I glue the chip to the inside of the streering colum will the non chip keys work
the key you have puts out a radio frequency that the ecu picks up in order to let the car start you should go to a bmw dealership and see if u can get a replacement one instead of trying to jerry rig the thing up cause then someone can pop the lock cylinder out and jack your car
