Hey
I was looking for front and rear lip spoilers to add onto my 1996 328i. It has the factory sport package with skirts..etc...and I was wondering if anyone knew if the sports package with the tighter suspension meant I had the M-sport suspension or ?/
thanks

i'm pretty sure that your suspension is not M suspension... it's just a little tighter but still not M suspension. I have sport package also but it isn't M suspension either.
Q, your car has the sport suspension, not to be confused with the ///M suspension. It is quite good though. As far as spoilers go, you are best off adding the ///M front nose piece. You can add lip spoilers, but the ///M front end looks great. The pic below is basically my car (1st pic not actually my car) before and after the ///M kit was added.
hey
thanks guys, ya jilphan thats what i am looking to get. arent those called lip spoilers ? I probably have the terminology mixed up. I want that extended portion of your bumper that stuck onto your stock bumper. Where did you get it from, and was painting and getting it installed a problem ? thanks man.
Also, how would i know when my suspension is going ?? Like i pushed my trunk up and down and when it would be almost at the lowest point , i hear some sound as thought 2 metal pieces are hitting each other.
any clues ?
thanks

Q, look at the first pic. That whole grey piece came off and was replaced with the new and different one in the second pic. I didn't just add to it. The pic doesn't show real well but they are two totally different front ends. The lip spoiler is the little plastic strip that goes on the bottom of the new ///M spoiler. You can buy bigger ones, but I like the oem because it looks agressive enough and is not as easy to tear off going over a speed bump. :P
As far as suspension, that whole push down on a corner of your car and watch the spring back effectiveness stuff works good on '85 Delta 88's, but on a BMW equiped with a sports suspension, it not as effective. IF you feel your ride becoming more harsh, bumps aren't informative, rather harsh and feels like stuff is beginning to break, I would take it to your local tech. I am assuming you don't know when those components where last changed, if ever?
hey
ya your right, i dont know previous details about the car. I will try and get it checked with a local mechanic.
I get it now, how much was that front end and did you have to get it painted locally and how much was it to install and paint it cuz thats kind of a concern too.
Not sure at this point, but it might be that i dont have that part ina gray color, it might be in the same body color but unsure as of now.thanks

Yes you do have the body painted front end. All 328's to my knowledge do. That is why you could just add to your front end, but like I said the ///M front end really does look a lot better. It also has brake cooling ducts which are quite funcional. Due to the fact that I don't track my car, I am thinking about using one of the brake ducts to make a snorkel for my own "homemade" CAI.
Purchase, paint, and install, an ///M bumper should run in the neighborhood of $800. About $500 for the part, $175-200 for the paint, and rest for install.
hey thanks
will keep that on the list if i dont need a suspension...will find out soon....also jilphan i called TMS and they said incase it is already sharked and in that case would give an error code, they will return it without a problem.

hey
thanks frank, my car is the same color too......So you bought an entire M-sport package body kit ? Because my car looks almost the same now (skirts..etc) with the factory sport package. Except for the entension of the front bumper all seems fine ...is that a completely new bumber or just an add on part ?
thanks
