Having read through the forum I am still stuck on the answer to this.. I have a UK 1996 318iSE, and since I bought it, the alarm siren has been unplugged. Until now I assumed the remote had been lost or whatever, so I have bought a replacement key fob, got instructions on how to reprogramme etc, but now it seems that the alarm module has been removed..
I've search behind the glovebox but cant see anything remotely like it, a few cut & taped wires seem to indicate that somethings been cut out. Thing is though, if I connect the siren (with bonnet/hood up obviously!!) the alarm triggers.
Would this happen if there is no module, or would alarm not work at all?
Or have I just not found it??
Anyone have a pic of EXACTLY where the module is located on a UK car in relation to all the other stuff behind the glovebox?
TIA
