95 e36 tune up

greetings everyone,

noob here but a true bimmer lover.......

would you all be so kind in assisting me for a little tune up,

95 e36conv m50 engine, 5 speed manual tranny

changed catalytic converter and m3 exhaust system (muffler only though, and the cat itself fucking cost me $600) due to not passing smog inspection. after that it passed with flying colors

changed sparks and fuel pumps (stock pumps), fuel filter, and injectors on all 6 of 'em with some high performance Venom injectors (my dad couldn't wait for me to decide and he was getting so anxious so he bought it himself)

tested the compression ratio and found that although it has slipped a little but still manageable

2nd gear blew and me and my dad took it apart and changed it and it's running so great my drive shaft U joint is rattling (or maybe i fucked up on putting it in? hmmmm.....)

now here's my problem:

the car has been slipping on gas mileage from 26/28 to 22/26.

i know i have to clean the head and take a look at the timing because the engine's knocking.

i have no problem with the power and accel (i took on an 07 golf gti and still smoked him, although have no fucking clue how i did it considering my bimmer was stock, but maybe d golf had a lousy driver), but would have no problem if any suggestion would help bring the power up a bit. not really want to mod the whole car since my girl love the car so much and i'm worried she'll take up my excitement of driving fast



so back to my original question, any suggestions on tuning up the car?

PS: really need interior door panels, the problem is it's very hard to find brown colored panels, any help?
