95 e36 cant turn car off!!!! please help

I went to the store and came home, went to turn my car off and the key came out no problem, but the car stayed on, putting the key in it and turning does nothing, it spins freely until it reaches the original position....what can i do here, i had to pull my fuel pump fuse to turn it off but my battery is still on!! is there a way for me to "hot wire" it make it a push start or something.

Well until the lock cylinder is fixed, it's most likely gonna be "on". If you can't fix it right away, you may have to disconnect the battery (you'll need your stereo code) or maybe the ignition under the hood and lock the car. If you reconnect, I'd think it will push start next time you try it. But obviously, you'll need to fix that lock cylinder soon...
