95 BMW 325i Knocking - BMW Forum

Hello,

I'm new to this. Just bought a 95 bmw 325i. When driving and hitting any pot holes, i feel this knocking coming from the driver side front wheels. Please advise on what to do to fix this problem. Someone told me to change the tie rods...just wanted to see if anyone else came accross such a problem before.

Tie rods would cause loose steering and clunking when turning the wheel from left to right. Your problem sounds like bad struts, strut mount, and/or ball joints.

Grab the top of the drivers side wheel and pull back and forth, also check for oil on or around the spring perch.

the strut on the front driver side is bad so i bought a complete eibach suspension kit..also when i jack the car up and play with the driver side tire i hear the same knocking sound
