95 318is radiator expansion tank OK, got to the office and heard a "pow" sound and a bunch of coolant poured out of the car. Didn't have time to look. Returned from a trip and took off radiator cap and looked in the expansion tank and there was about an eight inch crack on the inside of the expansion tank where all the coolant poured out. I ordered new tank and 'o' rings and looked at realoem.com to get the configuration. Is it really as simple in a 318is to remove the radiator expansion tank by removing the two screws that hold the expansion tank in (well that's what the realoem.com diagram showed) and remove the top -- lift out the expansion tank and replace with new, replace the screws and it's done?
That would be one of the simpler repairs I've done on the car. So, before I went to replace the expansion tank I thought I'd see if anyone knew the answer to that question. I hope it is that simple. Would appreciate the input. Thanks. |
