94 325is - need a little more performance

i searched but didn't come up with much, i have a basically stock 94 325is with a 5 speed... im looking for a little more performance, car has 200k miles on it but still pulls strong and doesn't have any known problems. If anybody can recommend a first mod for under $500 LMK

cold air intake and chip. I know those are 2, but that would be around $500.

I mean I would do any maintenance first, or work on suspension, but if you want a little more power then I think those 2 would be nice.

well, you get what you pay for. I would go with TMS or K&N or something.

the way i see it, all CAI are theoritcally the same. just a pipe with a cone at the end. sure some are lighter and some might go farther down to the bumper but they all yield just about the same performance gain.
