93 325is wont start,steering locked

hello, i have a 93 325is standard about 180k,

just bouth it dont know much about these cars, im a tec, but work on mostly gm and other domestics,

i traded a sled for it and when i got it the batt was completly dead, put a new one in and tryed to start it, you can put the key on and clicks two ahead put no starter spring, where you normaly push it foward to start, and the steering wheel stays loocked no matter what, alsio when you take the key out all the dash lights are still on like the key was still on,

Sounds like your ignition lock cylinder is broken. Pull the key tumbler out and you will probably see the drive plate is broken off from the shaft that goes through to the ignition switch on the other side of the lock cylinder. If this is the problem you will need to replace the whole lock cylinder.
