WEll I get woken up this morning by my sister calling me to meet her at the bank to help her cuz her car wont start, so I go, and they all think its the battery and what not but I get in and stick the key in and turn it! and click, no catcing of any kind, it turns all the way threw past staage 1,2,3, etc of the clicking when you turn the key... its like they arent even there anymore which is weird! So just to humor my sister and her friend, I pulled out the jumper cables and tried to Jump start it, and that didnt work(like I knew it wouldnt) and so I dont think it is the starter either cuz every time I have had starter issue's it would always turn over but never actually start but at least try to! SO this whole thing of not even catching at all is weird... Anyone have any idea what is wrong with it? Thanks all in advance...
No, I am pretty sure she doesnt have that option! The first thing I thought was that the steering wheel locked, like they do all the time obviously, but she just got fed up with it and stuck the key in and just forced it without jiggling the steering wheel, but she claims she would never do that, so who knows

I had this problem, don't know what you did to cause it. My car is an automatic, and I pulled the key out while it was in reverse (oops). But pretty much your lookin at like a $900 bill, You are going to be replacing your ignition cylinder, which to do by your self you would need a bunch of tools you probably don't have.

What you might be able to do is drop the under panel to your steering column and and try to find the two screws that hold the whole igntion cylinder assmebly on and take those out, then it is just a matter of getting a flat head to turn the plastic piece their.
I have some pics of my old one, check it out...

I have that problem right now. It happens every once in a while not all the time. When it does I just turn the key back for about half a turn until I feel a little click then I turn the ignition forward and it starts. It may be that eventually this will not work but for the mean time I'll just deal with it until I take the car in for service.
