'93 325is

im a big 240sx fan and i just got done selling one. i thought id just get another one and drop in an sr20det but thats gettin a lil to played out. ive been lookin at e36's and they look nice but i wanna know more about the expandability options. i know i wanna go turbo, i gotta have that blow off valve. ive read all about the need to lower the compression and stuff like that....however, i havent seen a lot of downpipes out there or a lot of turbo application exhaust systems. i also havent seen any ecu replacements for example the Apexi PowerFC (not piggybacks). my main goal is a safe 300-350rwhp streetable vehicle. also, how do yall feel about JDM parts on a bmw...or is that just too sacreligious. i like work wheels and i think a set of work emotions would look nice on an e36. please forgive me im a newb, i would have searched more but i need to know by tomorrow if possible...i found a really cheap, 1993 325is 5speed and if im gonna go get it sat. i need to know tomorrow. thank u very much please dont flame me too bad.

Umm, you can get 300-350 easily, without standalone management. However, there aren't a lot of do-it-yourselfers out there building turbo kits for these cars. Most kits from reputable companies will cost $7-10k. But you could get a supercharger for around $5-6k that would put you right at 350-ish. Everybody else feel free to chime in, since I'm no expert on boost. Check some of these companies out for tuning options:

There are more, but these should give you a good start on where to look for performance. I know there are companies out there selling turbo manifolds, but I can't think of them right now. And as for the wheels, Emotions would look badass. Just remember, unless you cover the entire car in it, BMW + Chrome = Ugly... ...usually
