93 325i Conv. Starting Problem

Hi,

I was wondering if i could get some advice, my wife has a '93 325i Conv. Auto the other day it refused to start - basically the engine would turn over as normal however it wouldn't catch, eventually after about 60 - 90 seconds and holding the accelerator down it started.

The same problem happened again today - car would turn over, but wouldn't start until the Accelerator fully depressed and the enine turned over for about 60 seconds.

Any ideas - my initial idea would be fuel pump or relay but I haven't yet done any on car diagnosis.

i'm not great at this stuff yet, or even good, but i might be able to help you think up a list of things to check.

-you might check the fuel filter
-sparkplugs
-airintake (make sure its not filthy or clogged)
-starter

those are just some basics that came to mind, may not help alot, but it may eliminate a few. sorry i can't be any more help than that, just thought i would try since no one else has stepped up to the plate yet.

Sounds like maybe a fuel injection problem...run a bottle of fuel injector cleaner through and see if it helps.

jason you have a 93 325ic right.... is it the E30 body or E36?
