93 325i battery light question....

my battery light went on today, but it didn't go on like the other warning dash lights. It was very dim and changed with the RPM's of the car. Now before hand i did hit a pot hole that really jolted my car. could that of knocked something loose? like a alternator belt or battery connection?? when i saw the light, i turned off my radio and turned off my fog lights, thinking that my battery was dying. but i made it another 20miles to my house with no problems. When i got home i turned my car off then on and the battery light still was on and still dim...any help would be great..

The car wouldn't die because for the battery dieing the alternator would keep the car running..... does the car stat back up? could be a lose battery cable....

i know that the alternator would keep it going, but im giving myself options. and yes the car starts right up when i shut it off.

pop open ur trunk, make sure all the cables are connected properly...

Have the battery and the alternator tested in an Autozone or a similar automotive parts store.
