Just wondering what the major differences are from the 92-95 318is and 96-99 318is?

I noticed that when looking for performance parts, they tend to break this model into these catagories. Any help would be great.

Thanks....

As far as i know, almost nothing.

They are different engines and numbers but not a huge change.

1992-95= M42B18 engine 138hp/129ft.lbs tq 1796cc
1996-99= M44B19 engine 138hp/133ft.lbs tq 1895cc

Autotechnica can probably give you more info...

92-95 - has obdI (easier to modify with performance chips, etc)
96-99 - has obdII more expensive to modify
