92 318i Gas Problem - BMW Forum

I just bought a 92 318i, automatic with 80,000 miles on it. It seems to just be drinking the gas. I have to put gas in this thing every couple of days it seems. Anybody have an suggestions on what could be wrong?? Thanks for your time.

Id reccommend looking at your spark plugs, and 02 sensor...

I had a similar problem, and notice a HUGE difference with the new plugs and sensor in... Do you notice a rich smelling exhaust when the car is running? Is your check engine light on?

Thanks for the reply....No, the engine light is not on, it seems to be running fine. I can just watch the gas gauge drop quicker than any car I have ever owned. Is it expensive to get the o2 sensor changed?

hell ya! mine too.. u should fill it up.. then reset the trip thingy! and see how many miles u go with a tank!!..

i thing i have changed was the air filter... which helped

2- i also dropped in some cat cleaner.. it didn't help much

o2 sensors are i think 150... which are exspensive...
