Is it possible to buy a euro m3 engine... and throw it in a 325? or rebuild a m3 to euro spec?
would it not meet emissions?
could you make it?
and also could you throw on a turbo or s/c and still make it pass emissions even if pushing 400+ horsepower?

M3's have been well documented to push over 400hp (dado's car is a good example with his 95 stage 3 turbo M3)
if you can get a euro spec engine and throw it in a 325 no problem, and yes you can rebuild an M engine to perform like a eurospec.
In my living area there is a salvage yard especially for (fast) BMW's. Euro M3 engines (321HP) and all stuff that belongs to this engine. For only the engine and tranny (tranny not sure) you’ll pay 3000 euro. When you want it complete with drive train, brakes, suspension it costs around 5000 euro.

All-in for this parts you’ll pay around 5000 euro = 6000 USD. (Exclude shipping costs)
Let me know what kind of car you have, and then I’ll ask that guy from the salvage yard. Within a couple of weeks I have my digital camera so I can take some pics from the engine etc.!

How much would shipping be??
How much would install be??
this seems like a good sounding deal IF:
these parts would make the car last longer
the parts all had low milage
it is USA compatable
etc...
this is what im thinking:
my car is old (+120,000mi)
i have replaced the following:
most of the steering shit
all of the suspension (i mean all)
a/c
and the wrest is in OK shape except the following:
tranny might go soon
engine is in good condition but very old/lots of miles
dont know about the differential: think 12 years and 120,000 miles
exhaust is 12 years old +120k miles
so i what am saying is:
if i replace the engine, transmission, and differential... will it revive my car?
This is a famous quote from my dad: "regaurdless of what you think, you can replace every part in that car with a new one, and it's STILL going to be an old BMW with all new parts, and not a new BMW" I think it applies perfectly to this.
