i have a mint 97 ac shnitz 328is but want more power, been lookin at usual mods but looks pricey for the gains in hp,
i am thinking of swapping the engine for an m3 lump but wondered how much of a big job it is? i know the gearbox is fine but wondered about the wiring loom?
my car is a minter(check my pics) and would be gutted to sell it but would i be better off just buying an m3???
In terms of cost and labor, you'd probably be better of to get a C38 supercharger kit from Active Autowerke or maybe a supercharger from VF Engineering. Both companies have websites. Google them and see what you think.
I would imagine that swapping a eurospec M3 engine into your car would be a huge pain. It's a much more complicated, touchy engine than your current one.
And hey, you get to pay in dollars, so it's DIRT cheap for you!
don't do engine swap. Get an M3. A swapped 328is actually loses value on the resale market. A tastefully modded and maintained M3 will only gain value. Besides, even though your 328 may have an M3 engine, you still can't say that you have an M3. It will still be a 328, ya know what i am saying?
So i say, buy an M3, or just supercharge the 328, then you can say "i have a supercharged 328" instead of "i have a 328 that is trying to be an M3"
supercharge it,payment in dollars means its half price almost. They cost 3k upwards here so import one.Big saving lots of power, around 300 horses i belive.
