328i, 1998 - Loud Engine Last 6 Mos;muffler?

Hi all,

I have a 98 328i...and feel the engine is so loud, others have commented too. it has 70,000 miles but i don't drive it much and haven;t for 2 years now.

Just wondering if you can advise is this muffler trouble?

if it's coming from the engine bay, probably not the muffler. what other problems?

no real issues, no computer warnings for check up...does feel like when going from 3rd to 4th (automatic transmission) it doesn't shift much - but barely noticeable. and rpms don't seem too high..
