325is Sunroof Dramas!!

Hi, I have a 1992 2 dr 325i -- It is fitted with an electric sunroof and all has been going well up until yesterday

All of a sudden its decided it doesn't want to work properly...

The switch is working ok, as it will still tilt up and down, and the windows also work so its not that comfort relay thing i've found out about through my search efforts... The problem is though is that it wont open .... It is just stuck in the closed position but as i said still tilts up and down..

Please help.... Any suggestions would be really great.... what can i do??? used

ure still betttter of than me. i was opening mine. and the headliner on the sunroof was like ripped and the sunroof made a weird cracking sound. and i was able to close it. but now i have hanging headliner and weird noises comming from there when i hit bumps. i dont wanna touch it cuz its gonna leak or get stuck open. im gonna fix it over witner break with my dad. so yea. sorry man. dont know what to tell u tho.

On some BMW models you can reset the roof electronics by pressing and holding the button in for 20-30 seconds while your ignition key on. It is in the manual.

Yes the roof button. Hold it IN by pressing it with your finger for 20-30 seconds ignition key on. This will reset it.

I don't know what's wrong with their sunroof upholstery. Same thing happened to me. Also, I was trying to close this one time, and I guess I held my finger un the button for way too long, cause I heard a cracking sound and a plastic piece broke off and flew right at me. Stupid action on my part -- I know -- but I was just "familiarizing myself with my BMW." Oh well, I didnt buy a sunroof that had a car attached to it. I bought a car that happens to have a (faulty) sunroof.
