ghead Hi Guys, I need some guidance here, I have a 91 e36 325i Non Vanos Car, I had the exhaust replaced a while back and seemed to loud , not sure how loud these cars are supposed to sound when stock because I have nothing to compare it to. Anyway I have just got the garage to change back box yet again, still the exhaust noise sounds the same! what other factors can cause an exhaust to sound loud?
Please help!

BTW the Exhaust is NON OEM, Direct Replacement though, cost near enough the same as OEM.. is that the issue?

Thanks!

Did you buy it used? Look for holes in the muffler/piping.

No , Brand new, this is the second rear box now, could the front pipes be causing this sound?
