Help! I'm building a Marlin Sportster using a BMW e36 325 as the donor and have got an engine/gearbox etc sitting in my garage.

BUT out of curiosity, whats the gate layout of the gearbox? I can find what appears to be 1st to 5th - where's reverse?

cheers
Andy

Reverse is next to 1st. Go to 1st. Pull back into neutral, push to left. Push really hard and the lever will move past the 1st gate. Push up.

Viola. Reverse.

Since you are in UK, you may have to substitue right for left....

Cheers - will try it when I get home - first is still on the left - course it doesn't help that pushing hard to the left makes the engine roll over !! Need a chassis to mount it on!!!

Yeah it takes a second to get used to, but once you get it to pop over that lock out you'll be able to tell.
