323is engine compartment paint?

I need to touch up some spots on the shock mounting tower of a 1999 323is where I found some surface rust. The paint is greyish black. Anyone have any idea on how to match this paint or where some can be purchased?

any touch up paint should do.
as it would be the same paint that is on the outside of the car.

The exterior of the car is Jet Black. The engine compartment is not the same. I can make a half assed match, but I'm rapidly becoming an obsessed BMW owner and would like an exact match if it's possible.

mine is jetblack too the compartment is the same. just not as shiny.

Was the car repainted? There should be a sticker on the shock mount that has the color.

P.S. Anyone know why my car has the color written in german? I thought NA cars were supposed to just have the number paint code?

All BMW's have a German color code!?

I wound up using black Hammerite which turned out to be a close match. It seems that the engine compartment was really also Jet Black, but not glossy though it sure didn't look like it.
It turns out the rust was from the previous owner spilling brake fluid and not cleaning it up under the wires running over the left strut.
