320i cabrio and passenger seat is stuck

Got a weird problem, the passenger seat is all the way back (it could be TOO far back) and now is stuck solid. The things that lock it in place are removed, I half drowned the car in oil and whacked it from every site. But it is stuck solid.

I understand this is not the kind of thing that is easy to fix via a forum, but does this ring a bell to anybody?

are u able to get to the bolts that hold it to the floor... your better off, taking the whole seat out... and see whats going on...

No, the nuts at the back are covered by the seat itself now.

yeah if the seat is all the way back than yes you cant access the back bolts.

see if anything is caught in the tracks... a friend of mine has this same issue with his passenger seat and what i did to fix it was kinda crude but worked.. i sat in the passenger seat and held the level and rocked back and forth hard untill i got movement. the only other thing i think that could be wrong is that the actual cable is snapped... do you notice resistance when you pull the lever? or does it seem flimsy?
