318tds problem any help plz??????

i have a bmw 318tds and am haveing problems. it splutters when cold and has no power at all anytime.the spluttering stops after a few mins but still has no power any suggestions please might be something silly as am no mechanic but when put on computer no faults registerd and my mechanic doesnt know what it could be.

Does your engine have a miss fire?? might want to check your injectors! This is a diesel engine we are talking about here right??

yeah it a diesel engine it only missfires wen i first start the car wen its cold in the mornings. its grand for the rest of the day but it still has no power. would the injectors cause that problem

^^^ could be , need too look into fuel pressure issue and engine also has a turbo??

i got the turbo checked it is workin fine. how can i check the fuel pressure to c if that is the problem?

Have to tap into the fuel rail with a manual pressure gauge! Or even into your suppy line coming from the fuel tank, also check your fuel filter!Another thing is check your turbo piping make sure you dont have any boost leaks that will cause no power problems has well. Hope you find out wats wrong!
