318is Running Slugish

I have a 1995 318is that runs perfectly when the engine is cold, however, when it reaches the normal operating temperature, it becomes very sluggish and has no power. Can it be some sort of sensor that is not performing well? Or, could it be something else? I'd appreciate any comments/ideas/suggestions.

My first guess would the temp sender this is under the inlet manifold the dealers can check it see if it’s read right. It’s not that easy to change

Could be O2 sensor. The sensor isn't in effect until the engine reaches normal operating temp. When mine crapped out, i noticed a gradual decline in performance. The check engine light came on eventually, but you'd notice symptoms before the light comes on. Can you tell if your MPG is down?

yea i have the same problem with my 318 and it runs werid and when its hot and i floor it there is a delay from the pedal to the rpm guage

my car has always been the same way. i never figured it out, just lived with it. that's why i just start it and go!

Mine has the same delay in acceleration you guys are talking about and sometimes has a rough idle and Im getting 16mpg. My check engine light went off awhile back but a 'check' light still comes on every now and then.

Do you guys think its better to go ahead and replace both 02 sensors if only 1 is bad?
