Yes it would but you might be better off selling your car and buying a 95 ///m3 if you wanna save on the engine and labor costs. IF you can install the engine and components yourself that's a different story.

what L337 was saying is that it would probably be cheaper to just buy a 95 M3. a project like that could easily go over $10k. the engine itself could cost you anywhere from 3-6k, plus you'd have to rework the entire exhaust system, get a new ECU, and probably new springs and dampners to even out the extra weight in the front. then theres a ton of labor involved which could run you $60-75/hr.
Would he also need to replace the tranny? I wouldn't think a 318 tranny would mate well (if at all) with an M3 engine.
You should really consider getting the M3 instead, even if money is an option. As it would all balacne out in th end. Plus there is a bunch of things you could do to lighten the M3. Remove spare, carpetting, swap parts out for CF parts, etc.
P.S. - or do like Donut did in his ///Mx6 and remove all the seats, interior, and the wheels. His car moves like greased lightening now. I saw him beat two Vipers and a Lambo. No really.

here i got a solution to solve all your problems....
step 1. get some carburetor cleaner
step 2. get a rag
step 3. spray a generous amount of carburetor cleaner into rag
step 4. put rag over face and breath deeply

2 options:
1. get a turbo kit or s/c kit, boost the crap out of your motor
2. get a car with a bigger motor.
i agree with Trigger on this
AA turbo or downing atlanta supercharger
or just get the euro M3 engine
hey my solution wont exactly solve his problems...but he wont care afterwards
