318is E36 idle prb

hi there u lot,

i have got a 1993 L reg 318is coupe. when i start the engine when its cold it hesitates and turns off unless if i push the throttle down and rev it up. once its running the idle is around 750 rpm and when its come on normal temperature then rpm goes up to 1000. which doesnt really make sense,

any thoughts????
i was thinking it might be the idle control valve

try cleaning your throttle body and change fuel filter .. i know when i had the same problem this fixed it ... btw i have a 95 318
