318is Coupe Window problem

When I close my door after getting into the car teh window goes mad and starts going up down up down up down!!! only about a couple of mm at a time but i have to powere down the window about a couple of cm's to stop it also when im driving he interior light comes on as if the door has opened although it hasnt. So im thinking its something to do with the door switch but the mos annoying thing is that all of a sudden in the middle of the night the bloody alarm will sound and the interior light will be on because the alarm thinks the door has been opened.
Thing is I dont wanna leave the alram off at night to get a good nights sleep as knowing my luck it will get stolen
So I just thought id ask incase anyone had a similar problem
P.S. also if i leave the window half down and then set the alarm the comfort circuit sends the window up but it then bounces back down and stays at half way ?????

Sounds like you have a coupe? If so, due to the fact that there is no door frame around the window, BMW automated the window to roll up the rest of the way upon closing the door. Im guessing this piece of electronics has gone bad. I would take it to a tech and let him check out the various components that make this system operate. IF you are skilled in electronics, grab your multimeter, and get to work!

Thanks thats pretty much what I knew already, in that I knew it was something to do with the switched/relay that pops the windows up that extra inch thing is I have now noticed that if I push quite hard on the door when I press the power locks button on the fob then it closes OK so Im now thinking maybe its just basic wear and tear on the actual microswitch that you can see right behind the door clasp the little black one its got a nice big groove worn in it. The other thing im now thinking is that last year or so it had a whole new Door fitted from BMW genuine oem part and if it wasnt fitted spot on maybe its something to do with that maybe hitting the switch when closed and over a period of time its worn it so I'll check that out first like I said thanks again

Yeah thats deffinately it. As soon as you stated if i push hard on the door, I was thinking its just an alignment problem. close your door, and check the gapping. You may be able to correct it yourself with enough patience.

Either that or when they replaced your door, they could have dammaged the switch...

I'm so glad I found someone with the same problem as mine. Did you ever find out how to fix it? If so please tell me the remedy. I'm getting crazy as the alarm goes off at 3 in the morning and wakes everybody in the neighboorhood!
